A Journey To A Random Place!

I was surfing through the net, again! Suddenly a thought hit me, why don't I leave to a random place getting on a random train. I have thought about it before but I have always postponed it. I remembered my friend's words saying that on his birthday his best friend died in an accident, there is no tomorrow, you never know when you are going to die. Then I just got up to leave my room and I have started heading towards railway station.

I have stopped at chedis[my favourite food joint at Kharagpur] and had a burger. It was strange! since childhood I always had a destination whenever I left, no matter where I go. I have reached railway station by auto, now comes difficult task, to take a ticket! where? when?.. questions started flooding my mind, I have calmed myself and looked at a map. The farthest stations I could see were Bankura, Balasore and Howrah. I got a ticket to Howrah because there are frequent trains and I could get down at any stop in between without looking at the location's name.

The journey was different, it wasn't the usual waiting just sitting in the train, I could enjoy every moment. I have read somewhere "I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth, then I ask myself the same question." I found it is ironical that the journey is similar to life, it is not about the destination; it is about the journey. For the first time in my life I was in a train not knowing where the destination is. I got down at a station randomly and read the name on the board - Panskura.
I have been to a new place many times in my life but this was different, I have realized the difference was that I was experiencing my freedom. If anyone murders a person, out of all the things the murderer have, punishment is to take away the freedom from the murderer by sentencing him to serve a certain period in prison. The freedom is the most important luxury one can have, I was exploring through unknown streets finding myself.

One of the most beautiful scenic beauties found is the pond which is seldom found in Bengal. It is my favourite moment to be near one of those exotic ponds. I got a selfie there as I was alone in the trip.
I felt a little bit hungry and asked a few persons is there any food there that I cannot miss, many suggested a chat shop by some guy nearby, I immediately went there and tasted the pani puri, they were delicious!
After some convincing he agreed to take a picture, he clears looks irritated :p
The Sun was heading back to home suggesting me I should leave to my home too. I have headed back to railway station and got a train back to Kharagpur. Those unknown streets got familiar, those green farms were even more beautiful, I will definitely remember the birds which flew over, I would never forget that pond and it's odour. It was one hell of a trip. Finally I had reached back to Kharagpur, it was already dark, it is always good to be back to Kharagpur.
Home Sweet Home
